GenAI Red Teaming
A structured security assessment that tests generative AI systems against attacks, misuse scenarios, and safety failures before deployment.
What is GenAI Red Teaming?
GenAI red teaming involves intentionally challenging AI models and applications to understand how they behave under malicious, unusual, or manipulated inputs. Testers may evaluate risks such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, sensitive data leakage, harmful outputs, excessive agency, and policy bypasses. Testing can be performed manually or automated using specialized security tools and fuzzing techniques.
Why is GenAI Red Teaming Important?
Generative AI systems can behave unpredictably when exposed to inputs that were not anticipated during development. Red teaming helps organizations discover weaknesses before deployment or exploitation, evaluate existing safeguards, and improve security policies and controls based on identified vulnerabilities.
Common use cases
GenAI red teaming is commonly used for LLM security testing, prompt injection testing, jailbreak testing, AI agent assessments, model safety evaluations, and pre-deployment security testing.
