The Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act, known as the Take It Down Act, was signed into law in May 2025. It criminalizes certain nonconsensual publication of intimate visual depictions and requires covered online platforms to provide a process for reporting such content.
