What is Image Segmentation?
Unlike image classification, which assigns a label to an entire image, or object detection, which locates objects using bounding boxes, image segmentation identifies the precise pixels belonging to each object or region. Common approaches include semantic segmentation, which labels every pixel by category, and instance segmentation, which distinguishes between multiple objects of the same class.
Why is Image Segmentation Important?
