AI Agent / Agentic AI

Unlike traditional AI systems that primarily generate responses to individual prompts, agentic AI can perform multi-step tasks and make decisions about what to do next. AI agents may interact with external tools, APIs, databases, applications, or other agents to complete a goal. They can also maintain context, evaluate results, and adjust their actions based on new information.

Agentic AI expands AI from content generation into autonomous task execution. This can improve productivity and automate complex workflows, but greater autonomy also introduces risks involving excessive permissions, unintended actions, data exposure, and loss of human control. Strong security, access controls, and oversight are therefore essential.
